As we step into a new year, what does this moment feel like for you, personally and for Maurie and Eve?
K: It feels like a deep exhale. For Maurie and Eve, the past 12 months have been a period of thoughtful strategic recalibration, and now we’re ready to move forward with focus, clarity, and renewed creative energy. Personally, I feel aligned and inspired in this season of my life. I’ve learned that the way forward always begins within, and through these inner shifts, I’ve been able to let go of so much baggage, leaving me feeling lighter and more at peace.
When you reflect on the year just passed, what are you most proud of?
K: I’m proud of resilience, of continuing to show up, create, and lead with heart, even when things felt so challenging. I’m proud of protecting the integrity of the brand and staying true to our values, even when it would have been easier not to.
What does “ease” look like for you right now, in life and in the way you approach the brand?
K: Ease looks like space, space to create, to feel, and to move at my own pace. For me, ease doesn’t mean stepping back from responsibility or action. I’m deeply ambitious and disciplined. Ease simply weaves through my days as a feeling, not a lack of drive.
How does In Motion reflect where Maurie and Eve is heading, while staying true to the brand’s core?
K: In Motion feels like a true expression of the brand’s core, realigned, intentional, and grounded in everything Maurie and Eve stands for. We’re currently working on a new collection launching in March, a thoughtful collaboration between then and now.
It brings together our most-loved styles from the past year, reimagined with rich textural details. Crochet, lace, and knitwear will layer effortlessly with In Motion, coming together to create a beautiful, energetic wardrobe. It’s a collection of pieces designed to be lived in, returned to, and styled with ease across seasons.
When you think about the Maurie and Eve woman heading into this year, how do you imagine her — where is she going, how does she want to feel?
She’s moving through life, navigating the chapters and seasons of womanhood. At times, she may feel stretched, juggling all that life asks of her, but she’s come to understand that caring for herself is not a luxury ... it’s a necessity. I imagine her feeling grounded and self-assured, vibrant yet calm, and deeply grateful for the small, beautiful moments that make up everyday life.
What does In Motion mean to you beyond the name of the collection?
K: I feel deeply connected to the idea of being in motion in my life ... physically, emotionally, and energetically. So often we can become caught in our minds and feel stuck or uninspired, and I’ve learned how powerful it is to move out of the mind and back into the body. Whether it’s a gentle walk, dancing around the house to a favourite song, practicing yoga, lifting weights, a lymphatic massage, or swimming in the ocean, movement shifts energy and brings both clarity and calm. It has been one of the biggest shifts for me, offering greater awareness and a broader perspective.
Being in motion helps quiet the small worries, soften the hard moments, and support our nervous systems. Most importantly, it keeps us connected to our inner world as we move through life.
If you could sum up the year ahead for Maurie and Eve in three words, what would they be?
K: Grounded. Intentional. Evolving.
What does timelessness mean to you in today’s world?
K: Timelessness means creating pieces that transcend seasons and trends ... clothing that feels relevant because it feels real, not simply because it’s new.
What inspires you outside of fashion at the moment?
K: Nature, wellness, music, meaningful conversations, and slow living.
